I think it might only be appropriate that the first "real" post on my blog - I'm not counting my "Welcome!" post as a "real" post :) - would be about my dress. And by "dress" I mean "wedding dress". After all, I started this blog to write about wedding stuff , mostly due to my growing addiction to weddingbee. I am planning to write about non-wedding stuff as well. And, after all, one day wedding planning will be over.... For now though, I'm too wedding-concentrated to attempt a non-wedding post. Did I mention that I'm getting a little obsessed with wedding planning? Yeah... I've guessed you already noticed...
So, the dress... it's here!! And it is a whole 2 months before the estimated arrival. Yay for online dress shopping! I had my doubts and fears about it, I was worried it would arrive late, damaged, used, end up not being original - think about a dress fear - I had it. But it is here - 2 months early, brand new - all tags intact and everything, only slightly wrinkled from being cramped into a box - nothing a reputable dress press service can't deal with, and absolutely original. All this and 40% cheaper than a boutique store. Yay for ebirdalsuperstore. That's hard to beat. In all honesty, if I found a boutique where the service had blown me away, I would have tried to ask them to lower the price. I like to support local businesses. However, none of the places I have been to had the service that was worth paying a lot more for a dress. The whole experience of wedding dress shopping did seem to be just what my so-far-most-favorite-bridal-book Bridal Bargains has described. I think it is worth another post. Here, I just want to tease you about my dress. ;)
Here is a sneak peek for you:
[][]
The box, looks a little sad, but everything inside was intact, thank God!
[][]And this is what I saw when I opened it. You can see a bit of color shining through. Sorry, I can't show you more. I want my sweetie to read this blog, and he can't see the dress until "the day". He knows that my dress has my favorite color (cranberry or lingonberry red), so this photo did not reveal much... I hope :).
It is gorgeous! And I can't wait to wear it. I think it's going to be great! If you could hear me now, you would hear a shrieking noise :). It's funny though that as soon as one wedding planning task is completed, a couple of new ones take its place. I have my dress now, but I should start thinking about the under garments and shoes. But as much as the new tasks can be daunting, they are nowhere as stressful as picking a dress. I'm up for a challenge! In the meantime, I will enjoy the thought that my wedding dress is now in my closet. :)
